About Airport Auto Sales

Steve Brown became an entrepreneur at the age of 22 with his purchase of The Happy Pickle in Dumfries. If you're a born and raised northern Virginian, you may recognize a few of his first endeavors: Tele Pizza, The Breakfast King, Chicken Express, and the Silver Fox. The best idea thus far was Airport Auto Sales. The idea for a Stafford community dealership began with the lease of the building down the street from the future site of Stafford Airport. With a bit of tender loving care, the shack with a caved-in roof, no floor and a few homely critters, was eventually turned into Airport Auto Sales- open for business in 1997! Steve had the vision of a bustling national airport that would bring business and growth to our town. He thought that this rapid development would incite the need for these new community members to have reliable transportation. Sixteen years later, Stafford Airport is still here- but Airport Auto Sales is more of a staple in our town. We have provided over 8,000 vehicles to our local community and gained an A Business Rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Over the years, Steve has weathered a recession, a divorce, and the death of a parent but still remains a solid force behind the walls of Airport. If you ask him what the best decision he's ever made was, he'll say "Making Blake get the education that I didn't." He sent his only daughter, Blake, to the University of Alabama where she earned her Bachelor's Degree and later a Master's of Business Administration. After working in various industries including international trade compliance, hospitality, patent development, and restaurant management, she ended up in the automotive robotics industry with a company based in Detroit, Michigan. There she got a taste for the automotive industry and grew to love it but wanted to leave the manufacturing side and be on the customer service side. She moved back to Virginia and began working for her father. After a few months, she recognized the potential for Airport to expand its product offering and achieve further success, so she offered to buy a stake in the company. Steve's words to Blake: "With your education and my wisdom, we can turn Airport into the BEST dealership with the BEST cars at the BEST value." Blake became the managing partner in August 2012.
